It is most often played with more than one player. Regardless of the number of players, the ideal number is 6 to 8. The sum of the money that all the players in a poker game place into the pot is called the &#8220;pot&#8221;. When a player wins the pot, he or she will have the highest-ranking poker hand and the entire pot is awarded to him. However, there are also rules for how the pot is decided.<\/p>\n<p>Each betting round in a game of Poker has a set minimum. The minimum amount of bet per round is called a &#8220;minimum bet&#8221;. This bet must be made during each betting round. If a player raises his or her bet, it is called a &#8220;raise.&#8221; The player must call the raise to continue the game. The stakes in a game of Poker are generally agreed upon at the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>Players start the game by placing forced bets, known as ante and blind bets. Afterward, the dealer will shuffle the cards and deal them to each player one at a time. These cards may be dealt face up or face-down. The next player may either raise or call. The dealer must give the player his first-round bet or offer the pack to his opponent for a cut.
