During the course of the game, each player must place bets into the pot. The first bet is called the “ante”, which is usually a small bet. You may also be required to contribute money to the pot before the deal.<\/p>\n

The ante is usually around $1 or $5. Depending on the game, the ante may be placed as a blind bet or as a bet that is a mandatory part of the game.<\/p>\n
