Poker is a card game played between a number of players. Each player is dealt five cards, and the aim of the game is to use them to make the best hand.<\/p>\n
During the course of a hand, each player is able to discard cards to improve his or her hand. After the last card has been discarded, the remaining players can then call, raise, or fold.<\/p>\n
The first round of betting is usually referred to as the ante. This is a small bet that every player must place before the hand is dealt. If the hand is won, the ante becomes the pot.<\/p>\n
Another round of betting occurs after the cards have been discarded. In this round, each player can request to discard a single card, or all of them.<\/p>\n
An all-in bet places all of a player’s chips in the pot. In a draw, each player’s share of the pot is equally distributed.<\/p>\n
A straight flush begins with the highest card. When the hand is a tie, the winner is the player who has the highest unmatched fifth card.<\/p>\n
Poker games may be played with as few as four players, or with a large number of players. Usually, two decks of cards are used, with the backs being colored differently. Some variations of the game use a deck of 52 cards.<\/p>\n
