The slot is the area in front of the goaltender that provides the best opportunity to score without deflection. In addition, it also gives the puck a straight-on view of the net, allowing for better accuracy and puck placement. Also, the slot’s low position allows for wrist shots. However, the slot’s position is not free from danger. Defensive players often set up shop in the slot, establishing it as a no-man’s-land zone and laying big hits on small wingers.

The slot position is also known as a cornerback or receiver. In the past, a slot receiver was prominent in pass-heavy offenses. A slot cornerback was also used in some teams. In some cases, a slot cornerback is a specialized defensive back. It is also known as a nickel cornerback.

A slot booking system allows students and candidates to book exam slots in advance. The slot booking system lists the exam center, exam date, and available slots. The system displays the number of slots available each day, as well as the capacity of the exam center on each date. A student can book as many as three slots on a given day. If they don’t have enough time to schedule the slot on the desired day, they can choose another date.
