What Is a Slot?

In hockey, the slot is the area between the face-off circles in the offensive zone. However, there are two different locations of the slot in a hockey rink. The low slot is in front of the goaltender while the high slot is at the center of the ice, above the face-off circles. Taking a quick look at the definitions of these two locations, it is evident that there are many variations of this term.

Pay tables on slot machines are lists of credits received when a combination of symbols appear in a certain pattern on the reels. Some symbols can represent a number of other symbols, but in a particular paytable, the credits associated with each combination are listed. Older machines have pay tables on the face of the machine. Video slots, on the other hand, have pay tables within their help menu. You can find the pay tables by looking for the symbol you want to play.

After all, what’s the worst thing that can happen? If your airplane is delayed because other planes are arriving, it’s probably the last thing you want to happen. Luckily, you won’t have to worry about missing your flight, as long as you have a slot.
